ABSTRACT
It was the summer of 1951. It happened on a trip. It was a certain thought encountered not only by her but by many others on their journeys. The incident will eventually clarify itself. She recalls, simply as an experience, what she faced on that trip. It concerned the Party. By the Party, she means the Communist Party. She was a Party member. At least in her mind she was still one then. And she was an author.
