ABSTRACT

Adobe Lightroom Classic CC helps photographers as a nightscape image and time-lapse photographer in several ways. This chapter focuses on Lightroom’s capabilities relevant to nightscape photography and time-lapse preparation; there are abundant resources for photographers to explore the full capabilities of Lightroom in more depth. Lightroom also offers photographers a couple of tools specifically for compositing constituent images. One of Lightroom’s strengths is how it lets photographers manage their entire collection of images. In particular, it does a superb job of giving photographers the option of working with batches of images at a time. Lightroom creates copies of just the metadata files where photographers' changes are stored, saving space on their storage media. The process of creating new, edited versions of photographers' images from Lightroom is called exporting. In the vast majority of cases, photographers will want to perform their image editing in Lightroom and then export a new set of properly post-processed and synchronized files for subsequent compositing.
