ABSTRACT

That night he dreamed of molecules and other tiny things, of how they shift and change in the flow when matter assumes new shapes. He saw, as he slept, a drop of water down to its bones—the hydrogen and oxygen bits and all their constituent parts, floating together and apart again as the drop fell flatly to the ground. He murmured aloud, “I don’t get molecules, or the spaces between.”
