ABSTRACT
Research processes are rarely detailed in book publications. As our research design was inextricably interwoven with the project's activities, we felt it important to explain these connections. This chapter therefore does two things., It reviews the contextual background for the Community Access Programme (CAP). It also examines the relationship between action research and the practice of widening provision with local community groups.
