ABSTRACT

A system is a collection of interrelated elements working together synergistically to achieve a set of objectives. Any project is essentially a collection of interrelated activities, people, tools, resources, processes, and other assets brought together in the pursuit of a common goal. The goal may be in terms of generating a physical product, providing a service, or achieving a specic result. This makes it possible to view any project as a system that is amenable to all the classical and modern concepts of systems management. This chapter presents systems principles for project management.
