ABSTRACT

This chapter presents alternate organizational structures (OSs) for projects. The project structure is the systematic approach for turning ideas into action. The structures presented here include a matrix structure, functional structure, and product structure. The complexity of organizing multinational projects is addressed. A checklist of the factors to consider when organizing international projects is presented. This chapter also introduces new forms of organization structures for project management. It is recommended that a project be implemented in a hierarchical fashion such that each stage of the project builds on the one before it.
