ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to establish a link between Akhuwat's 4 I's (Iman, Ihsan, Ikhlas & Ikhuwah), comprehended with awareness and integrally aiding in CARE-ing 4 (Pakistani) Society, that is Community activation, raising Awareness, Research-to-innovation and Embodied action in a transformational way, as contemplated by Lessem and Schieffer through their 4 C's (Call, Context, Co-creation and Contribution) to a fully institutionalised CARE process. The chapter elaborates a dual rhythm of Akhuwat's 4 I's (Iman, Ikhlas, Ihsan and Ikhuwah) with the CARE process, also proposing the institutionalisation of such a process. Muslim intellectual growth stalled in Pakistan, or rather the Indo-Pak region, after the Aligarh University movement, envisioned by Sir Syed Ahmad, an Indian Muslim pragmatist, Islamic reformist and philosopher of nineteenth century British India.
