ABSTRACT

This chapter explores Tunisia’s past and current contributions to international organisations, particularly the Arab League and the United Nations. What were Tunisia’s contributions to these two organisations in the past and to what extent have they changed since the revolution? The focus since the revolution is placed on Tunisia’s reaction to the Syrian crisis, linked with its proposal of an International Constitutional Court. This chapter shows that despite its very recent transition to democracy, Tunisia aims to strengthen democratisation processes through regional and international cooperation, thereby reflecting a more pro-active role in these organisations than before the revolution.
