ABSTRACT

When making pricing decisions, the successful strategist must consider not only what is profitable, but also what will be perceived as ethical and legal by customers and regulators. In many cases, subtle changes in pricing policies can make the difference between legally compliant and questionable pricing practices. This chapter raises awareness of the key legal implications of common pricing decisions and educates the reader sufficiently to engage in an informed conversation with their legal counsel who is licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions. This chapter does not offer legal counsel.
