ABSTRACT

SECTION 10 SUMMARY This section has looked at cash flow statements as an extra source of financial information. There are several reasons, mostly flowing from timing differences, why cash flows in a period may not directly reflect profits under accrual accounting rules. A trend in cash flows over a number of years is likely to be more useful than the figures for only a year or two.
