ABSTRACT

The neo-Weberian approach is rooted in the continental European concept of the state and in its dominant political and administrative culture. To a certain extent, it stands in opposition to the neo-liberal socio-economic agenda and new public management (NPM). It also remains at odds with public governance, which is conceptually rooted in neo-liberal ideology. 'The neo-Weberian state and paradigms of public management', S. Mazur and M. Oramus compare the neo-Weberian approach with the competing public management paradigms, such as the classic model of public administration, NPM and public governance. 'The neo-Weberian state and public policies', is devoted to the analysis of selected public policy types with a view to categorising their rules and mechanisms in neo-Weberian terms. 'The neo-Weberian approach in economic policy', T. Geodecki attempts to answer the question concerning the possible transition from the neo-liberal to the neo-Weberian model of economic policy.
