ABSTRACT

The ten case studies that follow provide a variety of examples covering different cultures, perspectives and styles, ranging as they do from New Zealand to India and Canada to China. They add to the richness of the vignettes and case studies in the previous chapters. As Passmore and associates state, “case studies or scenarios have a valuable role to play in learning as well as in continuous professional development” (Passmore et al., 2011: 309). McFarlane (2015) describes them as being a useful bridge in teaching and learning between theory and practice as they “encourage and enhance dialogue and reinforce understanding”. However, he advocates ensuring they are relevant and short. We believe the case studies that follow are both.
