ABSTRACT
Bangladesh, with an area of 148,393 km2 and a population of about 111.46 million (BBS, 1992), is part of the Ganga-Brahmaputra-Meghna delta in South Asia. It is bordered by the Indian territories on the north, the west, the east; Myanmar on the southeast; and the Bay of Bengal on the south.
