ABSTRACT

This investigation outlines the role of action, performance and body art in the second sphere of the GDR. Angelika Richter highlights the artistic practice of performing women artists and their collaborations against the backdrop of hierarchical gender relations in the art scene. It was only within the last ten years that especially feminist inspired scholars and curators dedicated their research to the artistic practice of (performing) women artists. This chapter extends the discussion to the aspect of their artistic collaboration.
