ABSTRACT

All over the world, people of color face incredibly difficult prospects. Exploitation, poverty, oppression, and lack of access to food, clean water, and medical care means that too many of us are familiar with the process of helping someone to die, or we are prematurely facing death ourselves. For example, life expectancies for African-descended people all over the world compare poorly to European-descended people. When you look to Africa, the situation on the continent is especially devastating—in many countries, it has become exceptional to live beyond forty.
