ABSTRACT
Information texts are a major part of every content area. They are also the texts that individuals encounter in the world outside of school. Learning to be a proficient reader of informational texts is critical for every educated person. This chapter is about how teachers can bring informational texts into content classrooms and teach the skills necessary for effective reading and understanding.
