ABSTRACT
Tunison (1945) presented recommended densities for trout in troughs and ponds and demonstrated that acceptable densities increase with increasing fish size. Haskell (1955) related permissible fish density to feeding rate, recognizing that it was a function of oxygen consumption and metabolic production, and that these parameters were proportional to the amount of food metabolized by the fish.
