ABSTRACT
Expert advice has always been sought by politicians. Several studies have looked into the politics of evaluation or expert advise and more generally the applicability of research results in the policy field (cf. Bulmer, 1990; Barker and Peters, 1992; Peter and Barkers, 1993 – following on from work of Weber, Mannheim and Lindblom).
