Statistics can be used in mass communications and public relations (PR) and allied fields to help determine the current direction of public opinion, the needs and concerns of certain target audiences, the attitudes of customers and/or employees about a company's brand image and other impression-based opinions held by groups of people. To do the calculations, researchers use computers and software. Multiple reasons in connection with the theme of thinking skeptically and critically. First, definitions: careful scrutiny of the millennial discussion shows that there is no firm definition of what the time period is when they were born. Second, there is disagreement as to what the people born in those shifting time periods are to be called. Some places call them Millennials, some Generation Y, others the Net Generation.
