ABSTRACT

A feasibility study is an early, high-level assessment of whether it would be practicable, desirable and worthwhile to pursue an opportunity, or a solution to a problem, and if so, how. It should identify and evaluate optional solutions, their justification and viability, and how you might implement each. The study needs to provide sufficient information to justify any recommendations on whether and how to proceed. It should attempt to answer questions such as:

What do we need to achieve and why?

What solution options do we have? What are the costs, benefits, risks and other implications likely to be?

What approach options do we have? What are the costs, benefits, risks and other implications likely to be?

Which combination of solution and approach, if any, is likely to meet our needs best, and why?

How long might it take? How much might it cost? What returns can we expect on our investment over what period?

What do we need to do next?
