ABSTRACT

Impact analysis is used to forecast the possible effects of any proposed or imposed changes on the justification, schedule, budget, risks, issues and other requests for changes, so that decision-makers can have the opportunity to consider the full implications before committing to a course of action that was not in the original plans, or alternatively to maintaining the status quo. It is another form of ‘What if …’ analysis, comparing the potential impacts of various events or conditions that we may or may not be able to influence, once we have considered all the implications.
