ABSTRACT

This chapter offers subject-specific advice on developing every aspect of theoretical, applied, or position papers, including: the title, abstract and keywords; method, results, and discussion sections; referencing; finding the right journal and submitting a paper; revising content in light of peer review; presenting papers. Some publishers only publish books for your classes and take what they can from that. They literally do not attend conferences, send out marketing e-mails, or anything. Contracts will differ depending on the number of authors. Some publishers will be very explicit that all authors receive an equal share of the revenue, whereas others will allow the primary author to negotiate with the other authors on revenue. From personal experience, most publishers are quite amenable to collaboration to make sure that the author is satisfied. No publisher wants to get a bad reputation within the field for being difficult to work with.
