ABSTRACT

Corporate culture refers to the ambience and approach to addressing business, or the overall atmosphere generated within a company. Canon's corporate philosophy must be seen in its natural setting and understood in terms of the social and economic realities which nourish it. The profile of the Integrated Company will have made the point that 'soft' issues have become much more important to Integrated Companies than 'hard' issues. The primary key to creating an effective strategy is to think strategically without restraint, initially by considering all possibilities, no matter how unlikely or eccentric they may seem. Creating an objective unbiased review of the company's strengths and weaknesses is a difficult task, particularly in obtaining a balanced viewpoint of the position of the company vis-a-vis its competitors. The ST strategy is based upon the strengths of the company which enable it to deal with threats.
