ABSTRACT

208Biofunctional peptides are molecules with biological properties, which represent an attractive, innovative and original alternative, in the pharmaceutical, and food industries, for use as nutraceutical additives with high added value. In the last decade, the most important challenges are standardization and implementation of production methodologies for peptide generation at industrial scale and further the purification of this compound. The aim of this review to have a close look on the production, biological properties characterization, and possible application described so far on biofunctional peptides.
