ABSTRACT

Sculptor and installation artist. He studied at Leeds Polytechnic (1977-80) and his first solo exhibition was at the Breadline Gallery, Leeds (1980); following his second exhibition there, he won a Yorkshire Arts Association Award (1982). In 1985 he was Sculptor-in-Residence at the Henry Moore Centre for the Study of Sculpture, Leeds City Art Gallery. A Light Wave (1988) comprised a series of wooden struts arranged in a serpentine fan shape against a brick wall; each unit of this form, which was identically repeated a number of times along the wall, was illuminated from within to create a wave of light.
