ABSTRACT

This paper discusses an integrative approach to data-driven design with particular focus on associative computational modeling, computational analysis, advanced visualization and rapid prototyping for the purpose of advancing performance-oriented design. The work discussed in this paper has evolved over a period of two decades at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design and establishes the basis of further integrated research efforts than span between the institutes of architecture and design. Key intention is to develop an integrative method-oriented workflow that makes it possible for the designer to address complex architecture and environment interactions throughout the design process and therefore to arrive at a more integrated approach to sustainable design.
