ABSTRACT

There are different ways one might articulate the notion of the "religious theist." The degree to which a conception or a framework of related concepts is developed or articulated in the mind of the religious theist may vary from one person to the next. To have a conception of God is to have an idea that fits into a nexus of concepts that constitutes a framework for living a certain way of life. Furthermore, there is a difference between thinking that some conception is coherent and having a certain conception. Most crucially, the religious theist is someone who follows the religious way of life, that is, he does those actions which he or she believes make it more likely that the religious end goal will be attained or maintained. Obviously, different persons can pursue the same goal with a different degree of zeal.
