ABSTRACT

In addition to the challenges posed by megatrends such as digitization and globalization, macro talent management in the currently booming economy of Germany is confronted with further issues such as important demographic change leading to a scarcity of talent and the huge integration need for high numbers of refugees in the labor market. For meeting these challenges especially, the social market economy and some characteristics of the education system, including the vocational education system, are considered as particularly helpful. However, there is also potential for improvement with regard to various target groups, such as improving equal opportunities for women, the inclusion of older workers or the integration of immigrants.
