ABSTRACT
Appraisal is defined as an official way of promoting professional, hence curriculum and school, development. It depends on cooperation between team leaders and teachers, teaching assistants or members of administrative or non-teaching staff. It provides a point of periodic, face-to-face contact and entails appraisers’ observing appraisees in action. In this chapter, principles and practices are recommended. Qualities and skills that appraisees and appraisers can use and develop are outlined.
