ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the potential of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, IoT-enabled services in smart cities, wireless sensor nodes as key components to deliver smart services, security threats of wireless sensor nodes and how we can mitigate these threats with assurance to provide secured and trustworthy smart services.
This chapter focuses on the security-threat landscape of wireless sensor networks and proposes a threat-mitigation approach to provide robust IoT services. This chapter provides an overview of wireless sensor nodes as a key component of IoT-enabled services, security concerns of wireless sensor nodes in IoT implementations and a mitigation approach for safe, secure and trusted smart services. A set of audit questionnaires has been added to assist in gauging the security features of the wireless mesh network for IoT services.
