ABSTRACT
This chapter describes Eddie’s experience of living on the street, being an addict, working as a drug dealer, losing his leg when he burst his femoral artery whilst injecting, and being unable to stop taking drugs. The chapter discusses being homeless ontologically, as being situated outside the established order; and politically, as not belonging; and explores aspects of these experiences through ideas drawn from Lacan and Bataille.
