ABSTRACT
This chapter describes how Eddie, now in a wheelchair having lost his leg, experiences living on the street; and also how Bugsy becomes involved in a failed attempt to extort money, using an antique military sword, from someone who had been identified by some of Bugsy’s friends as a paedophile. The chapter also considers Nietzsche’s theme of eternal recurrence in relation to the conditions that we describe, including the inability to make the right choice.
