KEY POINTS • Compared with intermittent auscultation (IA), the use of
continuous electronic fetal heart rate (FHR) monitoring signicantly increases the rate of operative interventions (vacuum, forceps, and cesarean delivery [CD]) for nonreassuring patterns, but it does decrease the likelihood of neonatal seizures.
