DEFINITION RBC alloimmunization, formerly known as isoimmunization or erythroblastosis fetalis, is the formation of maternal antibodies to fetal RBC antigens [1]. Maternal RBC alloimmunization can cause hemolytic disease of the fetus and neonate.
