ABSTRACT
This chapter examines elections and electoral corruption in united Pakistan from its creation in 1947 to the general elections of 1970 to show their effect on the process of démocratisation in that country before its disintegration in 1971. Electoral politics and electoral corruption under both military and civilian rule will be discussed separately to ascertain whether the nature of corruption and politics in these two types of regime differed.
