ABSTRACT
This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book adds knowledge about how families meet the challenges of work and family, which at times can seem to the family members as precarious as walking a tightrope. It comments on both contributions and limitations as related to work and family. There are several issues raised by authors of this volume which need further exploration. First, using some of the same variables cross-nationally would provide further validation to results presented here. Second, much of the research presented here has a middle class bias. Third, the interplay between religion and family is under-explored. Personally, readers can reflect on their own lives to see if their experiences with these family issues are similar to or different from what researchers report for others.
