ABSTRACT

This chapter provides security surveillance center personnel with the processes to utilize the security surveillance center to its fullest extent and capability. Implementation of these processes and best practices should enable security surveillance center to provide a safe and secure environment. The security surveillance center contingency process for closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera outage is designed to provide coordinated course of action in the event that the ability of the security surveillance center CCTV camera system goes out of service. When a general fire alarm is received and an emergency has been determined, the security surveillance center should notify the local fire department to respond. In any evacuation occurrence, security surveillance center will have primary responsibility for assuring evacuation of public areas, and the evacuation should be carried out in the manner prescribed and to the extent ordered. Emergency equipment including rope, bullhorns, fire blankets, flashlights, first aid kits, clipboards, pencils, and markers should be stored in the security surveillance center.
