ABSTRACT

This chapter argues that with regard to the prodrome machine, the coils are made up of paranoia – a desire-to-know entangled with a fear-of-regressing. With their eternal loopiness, hiding, predicting and branding give paranoia momentum. However, because these coils all involve fear – of the irrational, the uncontrollable, and the other within – they also make paranoia grow. Seeping into the cracks of white supremacy, these paranoid coils are suffocating. As a psycurity assemblage, this expression is animated by paranoia, thus suggesting that paranoia moves with a similar undulation. Thus that paranoia moves within psycurity may enact how, within coloniality, the standards of reason constantly change. Psycurity may direct paranoia to hide as reasonable suspicion. The prodrome machine suggests that, within psycurity, increasing evidence of uncontrollability leads to increased attempts to calculate it. Psycurity may direct paranoia to brand threatening bodies.
