ABSTRACT

Comrades Shmeral and Zapototsky are not authentic right-wingers, as a matter of fact. They do not support the platform of the right, the platform adopted by the Brunn comrades. Certain comrades are prone to confound the question of the "redintegration and enlargement of the basic capital requisite for the running of our large-scale industry", with the question of upbuilding a socialist economic order in USSR. The New Economic Policy had just been introduced, and certain comrades were inclined to look upon that policy as a shirking of our socialist duties, as a renunciation of the work of socialist construction. In his pamphlet, The Food Tax, Lenin describes the New Economic Policy as a necessary measure for linking up our industrial economy with our agricultural economy, as a prelude to laying the foundations of a truly socialist economy, as a means for the successful edification of a socialist order.
