ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the powerful combinations of TRIZ with other popular analysis tools. It also discusses the powerful combinations of TRIZ and Six Sigma, TRIZ and QFD, TRIZ and TOC, and TRIZ and Lean. The Six Sigma system for quality improvement in products, services, and processes is a business-based system of using statistical analysis and customer-focused methods. The difference in emphasis between Six Sigma and conventional quality improvement methods is the focus at all levels of Six Sigma application on the business results of the proposed improvement. TRIZ is used with Lean to identify and solve contradictions associated with waste production. The relationship between TRIZ and QFD is best illustrated by the QFD matrix called the "house of quality". The conflict resolution diagram (CRD), or "evaporating cloud", is one of the most powerful tools in the TOC tool set for resolving conflict.
