ABSTRACT

This chapter considers the invisible resources of systems and looks at the benefits from resource analysis. It presents a simple, handy classification of the most useful resources. The list of resources includes materials and energy, human resources (HR), information resources, and so on. Mapping resources stimulates ideas about how to improve the system. A good checklist for resource hunting includes namely: tool, object, environment, macrolevel and microlevel systems, time, and space. In marketing and training, macrolevel resources are used even more than in technological systems. One can try to resolve the conflict big clearance–small clearance using different resources on the microlevel. There are also resources of energy that are available for solution generation in any given problem. Problems and contradictions can often be solved by using different properties of the system at different times or by modifying the system so that it has different characteristics at different times.
