ABSTRACT

The purpose of availability exercises is to help conducting students improve their capacity for availability. This means that the goal of the exercises is to increase the number of muscles involved as they move their body. By integrating more muscle groups into their gestures, they will be able to access their natural coordination and freedom of movement. Whereas a jumping jack is primarily about moving the arms and legs, inverse stretching is primarily concerned with allowing movement in the torso. Inverse stretching is based on conducting students' foot or their hand being stationary and in full contact with the floor, a wall or a chair, while their torso and the rest of their body not in contact with the stationary surface is moving. Improving their posture is a process. That process improves every time they remember to allow their body to coordinate. As with performing, change is best measured as a percentage that will improve over time.
