162In the recent years, electrospinning is used as an efficient and simple method for producing nanofibers. The efforts of researchers have mainly been in producing nanofibers from varied polymers and their applications. But, little attention has been given in the process of electrospinning. The most important part of electrospinning is how to control the process. Studying the dynamics of the jet becomes easier and faster if it can be simulated, rather than doing experiments. A microscopic model can be expressed by the dynamic behavior of electrospun fluid jet (the whipping instability) by momentum equation. This chapter focuses on simulating the electrospinning process by studying the dynamics of the jet. An existing mathematical model, which describes the jet as a mechanical system of masses, is interconnected with viscoelastic elements, will be used to build a Matlab script.
