334Science and engineering are moving drastically and steadfastly toward newer realm and newer visionary frontiers. Chemical engineering and applied mathematics are facing drastic challenges. Chemical engineering process modeling and application of multiobjective optimization are the forlorn needs toward a greater emancipation of science, engineering, and technology. Vision of science in chemical process engineering at such a crucial juncture stands in the midst of deep comprehension and immense optimism. Process engineering and optimization in today’s world have an unsevered umbilical cord. In such a situation, petroleum engineering science needs to be revamped with respect to petroleum refining paradigm. Technological vision needs to be revamped with the passage of history and time. Depletion of fossil fuel sources is of immediate and utmost concern. Science of petroleum refining is ushering in a new era and a newer realm. The author with cogent insight and immense vision delineates the greatness of application of evolutionary optimization in petroleum refining process modeling and chemical engineering systems. Multiobjective optimization is robust and far-reaching. Vision of science, scientific cognizance, and scientific understanding will go a long way in the true emancipation of application of evolutionary optimization in designing and modeling chemical engineering systems. Today, the world of optimization has an umbilical cord with chemical and petroleum engineering systems. A scientist’s prowess as well as a man’s vision needs to be reassessed with every step of scientific research pursuit. The author critically reviews mainly chemical engineering and petroleum engineering systems with utmost importance and grave concern as it is the need of the hour with the depletion of fossil fuel resources.
