Modification of waste polystyrene food containers and study of its efficiency as an oil spill cleanup

16In the present study, the waste PS food containers were recycled and modified with acyl chloride and maleic anhydride. The final products were characterized by FTIR and ¹HNMR, and then their efficiency was studied as oil spill cleanup at different weight and at different time. Then the ability of crude oil recovery from sorbent materials and use of sorbent materials once more were studied.
