ABSTRACT

This chapter is devoted to the development of efficient methods of synthesis of new derivatives of maleopimaric acid (MPA) (the most available diterpenoid substance, isolated from maleated rosin)—esters, amides, imides, imido amides, diimido acids, imido esters, fumaropimaric acid monoamides, and of oxygen- and nitrogen-containing derivatives of previously unknown citraconopimaric acid. The reaction of maleopimaric and citraconopimaric acids with some secondary amines was investigated, and formation of A-substituted cyclic imides of citraconopimaric and MPAs was found.
