ABSTRACT

This chapter highlights the fifth dimension of the SCORS-G, Understanding of Social Causality (SC), focusing on what scores of 1 through 7 look like. The chapter provides an overview of this dimension by explaining it in an experience-near way and then presenting examples of narratives for each particular score. First, we provide prototypic examples of what a 1 would be, what a 2 would be, etc. Here, the narratives are different for each score. Next, we present one narrative that builds from a 1 to a 7. This helps readers to see how changing one narrative can lead it to be more or less pathological. Also, we provide sample narratives where readers have the opportunity to rate the dimension being discussed with scoring and rationale provided. Lastly, we summarize the empirical findings for the dimension as well as the type of narrative used.
