ABSTRACT
Chapter 14 summarizes what we know and what we do not know about auditory perception, bringing together aspects addressed in the other chapters of the book. The aim is to highlight the remarkable things that scientists have discovered about the auditory system, and, taking a more humble line, to point out some of the gaps in our knowledge.>
