ABSTRACT
Examining what designers say as they work together, this chapter uses data from a single design meeting to present an account of the design process as a failure to benefit from the potential of design framing to support design moves and reflection. It draws attention to the role of framing in shaping design, exposing some aspects of the skills that operationalizing framing effectively entail to contribute to better understanding the role of disciplined framing in characterizing expert design practice.
