ABSTRACT

In the opening chapter of this book, a certain number of issues was addressed regarding the behavioural response of users wearing VR headsets, and in particular the effects of sensorimotor discrepancy on user behaviour. Potential solutions to some of these issues were also explored, as were questions regarding the likely introduction of VR headsets to the general public. Our aim, however, was not to provide a complete review of such open-ended questions. Certain issues, such as the eventual links between different kinds of sensorimotor discrepancies, were not addressed.
